Originally named as above in this abstract, name later changed to Hemipsilichthys and treated in more detail in Steindachner 1907:475, Pls. 1-2 [ref. 18797]. Objectively invalid; Psilichthys is preoccupied by Psilichthys Hall 1900 in fossil fishes. •In the synonymy of Hemipsilichthys Eigenmann & Eigenmann 1889 -- (Isbrücker 2002:28 [ref. 27178], Weber in Reis et al. 2003:353 [ref. 27061]). •Synonym of Pareiorhaphis Miranda Ribeiro 1918 -- (Pereira & Reis 2017:75 [ref. 35307]). 1°Homonym.
