Homaloptera van Hasselt [J. C.] 1823:133 Fem. Homaloptera ocellata Van der Hoeven 1832. Type by subsequent monotypy. The two originally included species (fasciata and javanica) are nomina nuda (see Kottelat 1987:373 [ref. 5962]); first addition of species is in van der Hoeven 1833 (see Roberts 1993:24 [ref. 21799]).
