Type by original designation. •Synonym of Trichomycterus Valenciennes 1832, but a valid subgenus as described -- (Costa et al. 2022:491 [ref. 39820], Costa et al. 2023:5 [ref. 40511], Costa et al. 2024:129 [ref. 41685]). Current status: Synonym of Trichomycterus Valenciennes 1832. Trichomycteridae: Trichomycterinae.
