Type apparently first designated by Jordan 1917:129 [ref. 2407]. •Apparently a senior synonym of the widely used Carangoides Bleeker 1851 -- (Smith-Vaniz, pers. comm., Nov. 1989, Gunn 1990:14 [ref. 20141], Lin & Shao 1999:50 [ref. 23921]). •Valid as Olistus Cuvier 1829 -- (Kottelat 2013:334 [ref. 32989]). •Synonym of Atropus Oken 1817 -- (Kimura et al. 2022:35 [ref. 38998]).
