Priodontichthys Bonaparte [C. L.] 1831:175 Masc. Priodon annulatus Quoy & Gaimard 1825. Type by being a replacement name. Appeared as "Priodontichthys, Nob. (Priodon, Cuv.)". Replacement for Priodon Cuvier [= Quoy & Gaimard (ex Cuvier)]; preoccupation not researched. •Synonym of Naso Lacepède 1801 -- (Randall 1955:361 [ref. 13648]). Current status: Synonym of Naso Lacepède 1801. Acanthuridae.
