Psilosomus Swainson [W.] 1839:183 Masc. Taenioides herrmannii Lacepède 1800. Type by being a replacement name. Changed by Swainson on p. 279 (footnote) from Psilosoma (sic) to Amblyopus Cuvier. Unneeded replacement for Amblyopus. •Objective synonym of Amblyopus Valenciennes 1837. •Synonym of Taenioides Lacepède 1800 -- (Kottelat 2013:434 [ref. 32989], Parenti 2021:62 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Synonym of Taenioides Lacepède 1800. Gobiidae: Amblyopinae.
