Microgaster (subgenus of Glyphisodon) Swainson [W.] 1839:171, 216 Fem. Microgaster maculata Swainson 1839 (= Etroplus coruchi Cuvier 1830). Type by monotypy. One included species as, "maculata. Cuv. pl. 136." Swainson's maculata is an unneeded substitute for coruchi Cuvier 1830. Also a junior homonym of Microgaster Latreille 1804 in Hymenoptera. •Synonym of Pseudetroplus Bleeker 1862 -- (Pethiyagoda et al. 2014:585 [ref. 33411]). Current status: Synonym of Pseudetroplus Bleeker 1862. Cichlidae: Etroplinae.
