Type designated by Bleeker 1863:3 [ref. 4859] as S. gongota Hamilton 1822 (for which S. bispinosa Swainson is an unneeded substitute). Swainson spelled the name as Somileptus on pp. 190 and 443. First reviser is Nalbant 1963:364 who selected Somileptus.
