Eschmeyer 1990:123 serves as first reviser. Swainson's Diacantha zebra is an unneeded name change for Cobitis geto Hamilton. Type designated by Swain1883 (see Kottelat 2004:11 [ref. 27360]). Apparently not preoccupied by Diacantha Chevrolat in Dejean 1835 (nomen nudum) in Coleoptera. •Synonym of Botia Gray 1831 -- (Kottelat 2004:11 [ref. 27360], Grant 2007:8 [ref. 29922], Kottelat 2012:14 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:173 [ref. 32989]).
