Name mentioned (to include several American species) but not adopted by DeKay; unclear from text if all species mentioned would belong to Argyrea. Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Argyrea Billberg 1820 in Lepidoptera, apparently not replaced. •Synonym of Menidia Bonaparte 1836 -- (Dyer in Reis et al. 2003:520 [ref. 27061]). 1°Homonym.
