Choerodon Bleeker [P.] 1847:10 [ref. 317]. Masc. Labrus macrodontus Lacepède 1801. Type by monotypy. Appeared first as name only and spelled Choirodon in Bleeker 1845:513 [ref. 312]. Choirodon is a misspelling.
