Type above as given by Jordan, but that species apparently not mentioned by Bleeker. Not Scarus of Gronow 1763 or Forsskål 1775. Dates to preprint in Dec. 1847, jounal in 1849. Kottelat (2013) disagrees; the "Scarus".
