Labroides Bleeker [P.] 1851:227, 249 [ref. 331]. Masc. Labroides paradiseus Bleeker 1851 (= Cossyphus dimidiatus Valenciennes 1839). Type by monotypy. Bleeker's L. paradiseus apparently is an unneeded substitute for Cossyphus dimidiatus Valenciennes. •Valid as Labroides Bleeker 1851 -- (Richards & Leis 1984:544 [ref. 13668], Araga in Masuda et al. 1984:206 [ref. 6441], Randall 1986:697 [ref. 5706], Parenti & Randall 2000:26 [ref. 24943], Westneat 2001:3385 [ref. 26277], Hubert et al. 2012:5 [ref. 31846]). Current status: Valid as Labroides Bleeker 1851. Labridae.
