Jordan & Evermann 1896:624 [ref. 2443] list Melanura annulata Agassiz 1854 (sic 1853):135 in synonymy of pygmaea but annulata not mentioned on p. 135; Jordan 1919:252 [ref. 2410] wrongly says type is Exoglossum annulatum Rafinesque and that it was designated on p. 217 of same journal [as 1853 paper]. Included species (as limi and pygmaea) may date to ref. 2443. •Synonym of Umbra Kramer 1777. Current status: Synonym of Umbra Kramer 1777. Umbridae.
