Blenniops Nilsson [S.] 1855:184 Masc. Blennius galerita of Nilsson (not of Linnaeus) 1855. Type by monotypy. Apparently based on a misidentified type species, see Makushok 1973 [ref. 6889]. •Synonym of Chirolophis Swainson 1839 -- (Makushok 1973:532 [ref. 6889], Mecklenburg & Sheiko 2004:15 [ref. 27604]). Current status: Synonym of Chirolophis Swainson 1839. Stichaeidae: Chirolophinae.
