Apparently two included species (caeruleus and landbecki), earliest subsequent designation not researched; type as listed by Fowler 1964:32 [ref. 7160]. Based on larval specimens. Ammocoetus would be the correct spelling for the genus of the type species. •Treated as a genus inquirendum in Geotriinae by Kullander & Fernholm in Reis et al. 2003:12 [ref. 27061]. •Synonym of Geotria Gray 1851 -- (Renaud 2011:16 [ref. 31770]).
