Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Microdus Nees 1812 in Hymenoptera and Microdus Emmons 1857 in fossil fishes. Placed on Official Index, and Caenotropus Günther 1864 established as a replacement name by ICZN (Opinion 1150). •Synonym of Caenotropus Günther 1864 -- (Vari & Raredon in Reis et al. 2003:85 [ref. 27061]). 1°Homonym.
