Species as name only at end of generic account and apparently unavailable at that time; species was described by Günther from Bleeker in same year. Günther referred three species (one with question) to the genus; earliest technical type designation not researched. •Synonym of Syacium Ranzani 1842 -- (Norman 1934:129 [ref. 6893], Murakami & Amaoka 1992:63 [ref. 19779]). Current status: Synonym of Syacium Ranzani 1842. Cyclopsettidae.
