Probably should go to ICZN on Art. 70.3. •Synonym of Percina Haldeman 1842, but a valid subgenus Cottogaster -- (Page 1974:84 [ref. 3346], Collette & Bănărescu 1977:1455 [ref. 5845], Page 1983:44 [ref. 22189], Suttkus et al. 1994 [ref. 21916], Near et al. 2011:591 [ref. 31507] as a clade name). Current status: Synonym of Percina Haldeman 1842. Percidae: Etheostomatinae.
