Hymenolomus Duméril [A. H. A.] 1870:607 Masc. Hymenolomus richardsonii Duméril 1870 (= Syngnathus hymenolomus Richardson 1845). Type by monotypy. Duméril's S. richardsonii is an unneeded substitute for S. hymenolomus Richardson. Apparently predates Protocampus Günther 1870 [but months of publication not researched]. •Synonym of Entelurus Duméril 1870 -- (Wheeler 1973:278 [ref. 7190]). Current status: Synonym of Entelurus Duméril 1870. Syngnathidae: Nerophinae. |
