Type by original designation (also monotypic). •Placement uncertain, not a lutjanid. •Treated by Johnson 1984:465 [ref. 9681] as incertae sedis in suborder Percoidei. •Valid as Hemilutjanus Bleeker 1876 in Hemilutjanidae -- (Parenti & Randall 2020:132 [ref. 37354]).
