Also appeared in Bleeker 1876:313 [ref. 451] and in 1876:Pl. 374 [ref. 6835] (earliest not determined). •Synonym of Chaetodon Linnaeus 1758, but a valid subgenus Chaetodontops as described -- (Burgess 1978:518 [ref. 700]). •Valid as Chaetodontops Bleeker 1876 -- (Maugé & Bauchot 1984:467 [ref. 6614]). •Synonym of Chaetodon Linnaeus 1758, subgenus Rabdophorus -- (Smith et al. 2003:303 [ref. 27125]). Current status: Synonym of Chaetodon Linnaeus 1758. Chaetodontidae: Chaetodontinae.
