Trachycephalus De Vis [C. W.] 1884:455 Masc. Trachycephalus bankiensis De Vis 1884. Type by monotypy. Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Trachycephalus Tschudi 1838 in batrachians, apparently not replaced. •In the synonymy of Caracanthus Krøyer 1845 -- (Mandrytsa 2001:256 [ref. 25636]). 1°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Caracanthus Krøyer 1845. Scorpaenidae: Caracanthinae.
