Unneeded replacement for Evistias Jordan 1907, not preoccupied by Evistius Gill 1893 in fishes. •Objective synonym of Evistias Jordan 1907 -- (Hardy 1983:185 [ref. 5385], Kim 2012:89 [ref. 32039]). Current status: Synonym of Evistias Jordan 1907. Pentacerotidae: Histiopterinae.
