See Das 2003:359 [ref. 27706] who dates to 1947. •Synonym of Osteochilus Günther 1868, but a valid subgenus Kantaka as described -- (Jayaram 1981:128 [ref. 6497]). •Valid as Kantaka Hora 1942 -- (Karnasuta 1993:88 [ref. 20700] in Barbinae). •Synonym of Osteochilichthys Hora 1942 -- (Plamoottil 2022:982 [ref. 39362]).
