Not available from Regan & Trewavas 1932 (Art. 13.3), no designation of type species after 1930 (Art. 13b). Can date to Burton 1933 (Zoological Record for 1932) where citation occurred and type was designated; authorship is Burton (ex Regan & Trewavas); see Appendix A in Eschmeyer 1990 [ref. 20647]. Current status: Valid as Microlophichthys Regan & Trewavas 1932. Oneirodidae.
