Appeared first in Aurich 1935:170 [ref. 150] but with four included species and no designation of a type making it unavailable (after 1930 with no fixation of type, Art. 13.3); genus validated by Kottelat as above. •Valid as Paratherina Kottelat 1990 -- (Aarn et al. 1998:311 [ref. 23659]). Current status: Valid as Paratherina Kottelat 1990. Telmatherinidae.
