In the absence of a phylogenetic analysis of the genera of the Rhinogobius-group, we still use Rhinogobius sensu lato. •Valid as Sinogobius Liu 1940 -- (Endruweit 2024:157 [ref. 41040]). •Synonym of Rhinogobius Gill 1859 -- (Yang et al. 2008:380 [ref. 29924], Kottelat 2013:423 [ref. 32989], Zhang et al. 2016:201 [ref. 34477], Suzuki et al. 2019:22 [ref. 36545]). Current status: Synonym of Rhinogobius Gill 1859. Oxudercidae: Gobionellinae.
