Type fixed by Abe 1950:199 with bibliographic reference to Abe 1949; name dates to Abe 1950. •Synonym of Gastrophysus Müller 1843 -- (Kottelat 2013:476 [ref. 32989]). •Synonym of Takifugu Abe 1949 -- (Masuda et al. 1984:363 [ref. 6441], Matsuura 1990:17 [ref. 13815]).
