Roule 1916:28 dates to 20 May with two included species; type apparently first designated by Jordan 1920:560 [ref. 4905], not Solea profundicola Vaillant 1888 (if 1916:28 was earlier). •Valid as Bathysolea Roule 1916 -- (Torchio 1973:630 [ref. 6892] with type as profundicola, Quéro et al. in Whitehead et al. 1986:1309 [ref. 13677], Quéro & Desoutter 1990:109 [ref. 15757], Chapleau & Desoutter 1997:408 [ref. 23363], Bañón et al. 2016:325 [ref. 34397], Fricke et al. 2018:372 [ref. 35805]). Current status: Valid as Bathysolea Roule 1916. Soleidae.
