Roule 1915:46 [ref. 12566] redefined the genus based on Brauer 1906 and excluded Gill's type species; Roule's treatment apparently can qualify as a genus description, but Aleposomus Roule is preoccupied by Gill's use of the name. •Synonym of Xenodermichthys Günther 1878 -- (Krefft 1973:92 [ref. 7166]).
