Crossostomus Lahille [F.] 1908:408 Masc. Lycodes (Iluocoetes) fimbriatus of Steindachner 1898. Type by monotypy. Based on a misidentified type species, species named Crossolycus chilensis by Regan 1913; not Iluocoetes fimbriatus Jenyns. ICZN probably should be requested to fix type for Crossostomus as Crossolycus chilensis Regan 1913.
