Scopelus (subgenus of Myctophum) Fraser-Brunner [A.] 1949:1054 Masc. Gasteropelecus humboldti Risso 1810 (= Myctophus boops Richardson, fide Bolin). Apparently not an original description; attributed to Cuvier by Fraser-Brunner, with stated type as G. humboldti Risso (but evidently misidentified). •In the synonymy of Symbolophorus Bolin & Wisner 1959 -- (Krefft & Bekker 1973:197 [ref. 7181]). Current status: Uncertain as Symbolophorus Bolin & Wisner 1959. Myctophidae: Myctophinae.
