Holotype (unique): IBTS 625. •Synonym of Erythroculter hypselonotus (Bleeker 1871), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Mai 1978:151 [ref. 13511]). •Valid as Ancherythroculter daovantieni (Bănărescu 1967) -- (Kottelat 2001:18 [ref. 25482], Kottelat 2013:73 [ref. 32989], Endruweit 2025:117 [ref. 42401]). Current status: Valid as Ancherythroculter daovantieni (Bănărescu 1967). Xenocyprididae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: middle and lower reaches of Red River (China and Vietnam). Habitat: freshwater.

Holotype: 190 mm specimen (whereabouts unknown). Paratypes: (7) whereabouts unknown. •Valid as Ancherythroculter kurematsui (Kimura 1934) -- (Yih & Wu 1964:108 [ref. 13499], Ding 1994:201 [ref. 21531], Zhu 1995:36 [ref. 25213], Luo & Chen in Chen et al. 1998:150 [ref. 23878], Tang et al. 2001:12 [ref. 25373], Zhang et al. 2016:58 [ref. 34477], Guo 2021:122 [ref. 38617]). Current status: Valid as Ancherythroculter kurematsui (Kimura 1934). Xenocyprididae. Distribution: Yangtze River basin, China. Habitat: freshwater.

lini, Ancherythroculter Luo [Y.-L.] 1994:48 [Acta Hydrobiologica Sinica v. 18 (no. 1); ref. 21974] Wuchow, Kwangsi, China [Lin specimens]. Syntypes:(2). Based on Erythroculter hypselonotus of Lin 1934:621 [ref. 23133] which is based on 2 specimens and several literature sources. •Tentative synonym of Ancherythroculter daovantieni (Bănărescu 1967) -- (Kottelat 2001:18 [ref. 25482], Kottelat 2013:74 [re. 32989]). •Valid as Ancherythroculter lini Luo 1994 -- (Luo & Chen in Chen et al. 1998:153 [ref. 23878], Zhang et al. 2016:58 [ref. 34477]). Current status: Valid as Ancherythroculter lini Luo 1994. Xenocyprididae. Distribution: China. Habitat: freshwater.

H.] 1969:15, Fig. 17 in ref. 29795 [missing] [Some data on composition, origin, and distribution of cyprinid species in northern Vietnam; ref. 25483] Bo River, Vietnam [original: Ha Noi, Ha Tay and Nam Ha, Song Hong and Song Da basins, Vietnam]. Syntypes: (10) lost. See Kottelat 2001:113, 121 [ref. 25482] for availability issues. Spelled in more than one way originally, Kottelat 2001:121 [ref. 25482] as first reviser selected macrothalmus. Appeared as name in synonymy and unavailable in Mai 1978 [ref. 13511]. See Nguyen & Doan 2008 [ref. 29793] for an English translation of ref. 25483. Neotype designated by Roberts & Catania 2008:93 [ref. 29794] in invalid (IBST 626) as need was not stated. •Synonym of Ancherythroculter daovantieni (Bănărescu 1967) -- (Kottelat 2001:18 [ref. 25482], Roberts & Catania 2007:93, 96 [ref. 29794], Kottelat 2013:73 [ref. 32989]). •Nomen nudum -- (Endruweit 2024:15 [ref. 41040] as macropthalmus). Current status: Synonym of Ancherythroculter daovantieni (Bănărescu 1967). Xenocyprididae. Habitat: freshwater.

Syntypes: (38). •Valid as Ancherythroculter nigrocauda Yih & Wu 1964 -- (Ding 1994:205 [ref. 21531], Zhu 1995:36 [ref. 25213], Luo & Chen in Chen et al. 1998:152 [ref. 23878], Zhang et al. 2016:58 [ref. 34477] with second author as Woo, Guo 2021:127 [ref. 38617] with second author as Woo). Current status: Valid as Ancherythroculter nigrocauda Yih & Wu 1964. Xenocyprididae. Distribution: Yangtze River basin, China. Habitat: freshwater.

wangi, Erythroculter Tchang [T.-L.] 1932:122, Fig. 2 [Bulletin of the Fan Memorial Institute of Biology, Peiping (Zoological Series) v. 3 (no. 9); ref. 16402] Szechuan, China. Holotype (unique): ZMFMIB (now ASIZB) 7920. •Valid as Ancherythroculter wangi (Tchang 1932) -- (Yih & Wu 1964:107 [ref. 13499], Ding 1994:203 [ref. 21531], Zhu 1995:36 [ref. 25213], Luo & Chen in Chen et al. 1998:151 [ref. 23878], Zhang et al. 2016:58 [ref. 34477], Guo 2021:124 [ref. 38617]). Current status: Valid as Ancherythroculter wangi (Tchang 1932). Xenocyprididae. Distribution: Yangtze River basin, China. Habitat: freshwater.
