Syntypes: (19) BMNH 1935.6.14.2284-2296 (?13). •Valid as Aristochromis christyi Trewavas 1935 -- (Eccles & Trewavas 1989:264 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:7 [ref. 20944], Konings 2016:132 [ref. 34521]). Current status: Valid as Aristochromis christyi Trewavas 1935. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Malawi. Habitat: freshwater.
