Plus non-type specimens. •Valid as Attonitus bounites Vari & Ortega 2000 -- (Buckup in Reis et al. 2003:113 [ref. 27061], Barriga Salazar 2014:106 [ref. 35745] as cf. bounites, Sarmiento et al. 2014:184 [ref. 35004], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893]). Current status: Valid as Attonitus bounites Vari & Ortega 2000. Stevardiidae: Diapominae. Distribution: Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia. Habitat: freshwater. ephimeros, Attonitus Vari [R. P.] & Ortega [H.] 2000:129, Figs. 1, 4 [Ichthyological Exploration of Freshwaters v. 11 (no. 2); ref. 24436] Río Picha, Puerto Huallana, Quebrada Mapichiriato, 11°50'S, 73°20'W, Río Urubamba basin, Province La Convencion, Depto de Cusco, Peru. Holotype: MUSM 11501. Paratypes: MUSM 12757-60 (5, 8, 3, 1); USNM 349696 (4, 1 c&s), 349708 (8, 2 c&s), 349713 (1), 349914 (3). Plus non-type specimens. •Valid as Attonitus ephimeros Vari & Ortega 2000 -- (Buckup in Reis et al. 2003:113 [ref. 27061], Mirande 2010:538 [ref. 31006], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], Chuctaya et al. 2022:18 [ref. 42137]). Current status: Valid as Attonitus ephimeros Vari & Ortega 2000. Stevardiidae: Diapominae. Distribution: South America: Aguaytia and Pachitea rivers in Ucayali River basin (Peru). IUCN (2016): Least Concern. Habitat: freshwater. irisae, Attonitus Vari [R. Holotype: MUSM 10759. Paratypes: MUSM 6573 (2), 10315 (3), 12751-53 (8, 2, 1); ROM 55894 (10); USNM 349697 (1), 349698 (10, 2 c&s), 349704 (1), 349710 (1). •Valid as Attonitus irisae Vari & Ortega 2000 -- (Buckup in Reis et al. 2003:113 [ref. 27061], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:17 [ref. 39298], Chuctaya et al. 2022:18 [ref. 42137]). Current status: Valid as Attonitus irisae Vari & Ortega 2000. Stevardiidae: Diapominae. Distribution: South America: Aguaytia and Pachitea rivers in Ucayali River basin (Peru).
