The lectotype designation by P. Miranda-Riebiro 1953:395 was for garbei Miranda Ribeiro, but the 10 specimens [MNRJ 1101] listed by Miranda Ribeiro in 1953 apparently were part of Ihering's series. Britski 1969:207 [ref. 12401] designated DZSASP 711 as lectotype for garbei Ihering 1911. Since Ihering was responsible for the description of both "species," he would be the author in 1937 as well, as Ihering in Miranda Ribeiro.
