Plus additional non-type material. •Valid as Catoprion absconditus Mateussi, Melo & Oliveira 2020 -- (Silvano et al. 2020:154 [ref. 38133], Taphorn et al. 2022:27 [ref. 41297], Ota et al. 2024:404 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Catoprion absconditus Mateussi, Melo & Oliveira 2020. Serrasalmidae: Serrasalminae. Distribution: South America: central and eastern Amazon and Essequibo River basins (Brazil and Guyana). Habitat: freshwater.
