Lectotype selected by Bertelsen 1951:95 [ref. 287]. •Valid as Ctenochirichthys longimanus Regan & Trewavas 1932 -- (Maul 1973:671 [ref. 7171], Bertelsen in Whitehead et al. 1986:1387 [ref. 13677], Pequeño 1989:43 [ref. 14125], Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006:201 [ref. 28944], Pietsch 2009:443 [ref. 30766], Pietsch 2016:2067 [ref. 34597], Carneiro et al. 2019:217 [ref. 37250]). Current status: Valid as Ctenochirichthys longimanus Regan & Trewavas 1932. Oneirodidae. Distribution: Eastern Atlantic; eastern Pacific. Habitat: marine.

Holotype (unique): CAS-SU 46491 [ex NYZS 28773]. Type catalog: Mead 1958:134 [ref. 20648]. •Synonym of Ctenochirichthys longimanus Regan & Trewavas 1932 -- (Maul 1973:671 [ref. 7171], Pietsch 2009:443 [ref. 30766]). Current status: Synonym of Ctenochirichthys longimanus Regan & Trewavas 1932. Oneirodidae. Habitat: marine.
