Current status: Valid as Distoechodon compressus (Nichols 1925). Xenocyprididae. Distribution: Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, China and Taiwan. Habitat: freshwater.

Regarded as unavailable from electronic publication in 2003 (thesis, pdf) as macrophthalmos; published in ref. 30545 in 2009 and described as a new species without mention of the 2003 thesis by Zhao [ref. 30948]. Name treated as a noun. •Valid as Distoechodon macrophthalmus Zhao, Kullander, Kullander & Zhang 2009 -- (Zhang et al. 2016:64 [ref. 34477], Zhang et al. 2019:202 [ref. 36699]).
