No type known. Type catalog: Gilbert 1998:41 [ref. 23395]. Species account indicates illustration on fig. 4 of Pl. 17, but description matches fig. 3. •Synonym of Exoglossum maxillingua (Lesueur 1817) -- (Smith 1986:132 [ref. 22186], Gilbert 1998:41 [ref. 23395]). Current status: Synonym of Exoglossum maxillingua (Lesueur 1817). Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. Habitat: freshwater.

Unneeded replacement name for Cyprinus maxillingua Lesueur 1817 (to avoid Strickland tautonymy), but earlier replaced by Rafinesque as Exoglossum vittatum (see Proc. J. Acad. Nat. Sci. Phila. v. 1:485 for order of publication). Obviously named for Lesueur but spelled Lesurianum, and that spelling can be retained. •Objective synonym of Exoglossum maxillingua (Lesueur 1817) -- (Smith 1986:132 [ref. 22186], Gilbert 1998:103 [ref. 23395], Scott & Crossman 1998:414 [ref. 24570]).
