A forgotten name, not used as valid since 1899, therefore reversal of priority in favor of Hydrocyon forskahlii Cuvier 1819 is followed (Art. 23.9) -- (Fricke 2008:18 [ref. 30182]). Authorship according to Fricke 2008:18 [ref. 30182]. Misidentified as Salmo dentex (non Linnaeus 1758) by Forsskål 1775:xiii, 66 [ref. 1351] with vernacular name "Roschal'. •Synonym of Hydrocynus forskahlii (Cuvier 1819) -- (Fricke 2008:18 [ref. 30182]).
