Apparently described independently from Iodotropheus sprengerae; perhaps not intended as a new species description; and perhaps not available if not intended for the permanent scientific record. •In the synonymy of Iodotropheus sprengerae Oliver & Loiselle 1972. Misspelling. Current status: Synonym of Iodotropheus sprengerae Oliver & Loiselle 1972. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae.
