Holotype (unique): BMNH 1891.6.13.40 (lost). •Valid as Hemimyzon abbreviata (Günther 1892) -- (Li in Ding 1994:433 [ref. 21531], Zhu 1995:139 [ref. 25213], Chen in Chen 1998:269 [ref. 23556]). •Valid as Jinshaia abbreviata (Günther 1892) -- (Kottelat & Chu 1988:192 [ref. 13491], Tang & Chen 2000:8 [ref. 25445], Chen & Tang in Yue 2000:548 [ref. 25272], Kottelat 2012:53 [ref. 32367], Zhang et al. 2016:166 [ref. 34477], Zhang et al. 2019:444 [ref. 36699], Guo 2021:702 [ref. 38618], Lei et al. 2025:1573 [ref. 42349]). Current status: Valid as Jinshaia abbreviata (Günther 1892). Balitoridae. Distribution: East Asia: upper Yangtze River basin (China). IUCN (2024): Not Assessed. Habitat: freshwater.

Holotype: 9207001. Paratypes: 9207002-05 (4). Types are in Reservoir of Heilongtan Lunan and Fishery Administration, Qujing Region, Yunnan. Inadvertent spelling error on p. 3. •Valid as Jinshaia niulanjiangensis Li, Mao & Lu 1998 -- (Kottelat 2012:53 [ref. 32367], Lei et al. 2025:1573 [ref. 42349]). •Synonym of Jinshaia sinensis (Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant 1874) -- (Zhang et al. 2016:166 [ref. 34477] with authorship as Sauvage & Dabry, Zhang et al. 2019:442 [ref. 36699]). Current status: Synonym of Jinshaia sinensis (Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant 1874). Balitoridae. Habitat: freshwater.
