Holotype: ZSI F9981/1. Paratypes: ZSI (1). Type catalog: Menon & Yazdani 1968:123 [ref. 20743]. Original genus is correctly Nemacheilus. See Das 2003:364 [ref. 27706]. •Valid as Nemacheilus monilis Hora 1921 -- (Menon 1987:156 [ref. 14149] as Noemacheilus, Talwar & Jhingran 1991:488 [ref. 20764], Bănărescu & Nalbant 1995:435 [ref. 23187], Indra et al. 1992:521 [ref. 24992], Menon 1999:183 [ref. 24904] as Noemacheilus, Raju Thomas et al. 2002:50 [ref. 26359], Kurup & Radhakrishnan 2005:77 [ref. 28530], Arunachalam & Muralidharan 2007:2724 [ref. 29138], Arunachalam & Muralidharan 2009:148 [ref. 30462], Kottelat 2012:91 [ref. 32367] in 'Nemacheilus', Bleher 2018:172 [ref. 36647], Šlechtová et al. 2021:[11] [ref. 38212] in 'Nemacheilus'). •Valid as Koima monilis (Hora 1921) -- (Anoop et al. 2024:112 [ref. 41671]). Current status: Valid as Koima monilis (Hora 1921). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: South Asia: Cauvery River basin, Western Ghats, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, peninsular India. Habitat: freshwater.

remadevii, Mesonoemacheilus Shaji [C. P.] 2002:217, Figs. 2-4 [Indian Journal of Fisheries v. 49 (no. 2); ref. 27556] Kunthi River at Poochipara, Silent Valley National Park, Kerala, India. Holotype: KFRI F900 [probably lost]. Paratypes: CLTV F11541 (2), KFRI F901 (3) [probably lost]. Appeared earlier as an unavailable nomen nudum, Mesonemacheilus remadeviensis Ponniah & Gopalakrshnan 2000. Described as remadevii, but named for K. Rema Devi, who is a woman, the correct species epithet would have been remadeviae, but not to be corrected according to the ICZN. •Valid as Mesonoemacheilus remadevii Shaji 2002 -- (Kottelat 2012:89 [ref. 32367], Anoop et al. 2017:124 [ref. 35652], Bleher 2018:152 [ref. 36647]). •Valid as Koima remadevii (Shaji 2002) -- (Anoop et al. 2024:108 [ref. 41671]). Current status: Valid as Koima remadevii (Shaji 2002). Nemacheilidae.
