A.] & Quagio-Grassiotto [I.] 2011:286, Figs. 7-9 [Neotropical Ichthyology v. 9 (no. 2); ref. 31387] Rio Paraopeba, São Francisco basin, ca. 20°09'S, 44°10"W, Brumadinho, Brazil. Holotype: MCP 45718. Paratypes: many at CPUFMT, LIRP, MCP, MZUSP. Plus non-type specimens. The specimen depicted by Ferreira et al. 2011:286 fig. 7 [ref. 31387] is not the holotype, as the caption claims, but the paratype MCP 31798. See Deprá et al. 2018:19 [ref. 35939] fig. 8a for the holotype. •Valid as Lepidocharax burnsi Ferreira, Menezes & Quagio-Grassiotto 2011 -- (Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], Deprá et al. 2018:18 [ref. 35939], Quintela et al. 2023:6 [ref. 40727], Vieira-Guimarães et al. 2024:39 [ref. 41258]). Current status: Valid as Lepidocharax burnsi Ferreira, Menezes & Quagio-Grassiotto 2011. Stevardiidae: Planaltininae. Distribution: South America: upper rio São Francisco and rio Doce basins, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.

diamantina, Lepidocharax Ferreira [K. M.], Menezes [N. A.] & Quagio-Grassiotto [I.] 2011:283, Figs. 2-5 [Neotropical Ichthyology v. 9 (no. 2); ref. 31387] Rio Santo Antônio, a tributary to rio Paraguaçu, ca. 12°31'S, 41°34'W, Palmeiras, Bahia, Brazil. Holotype: MNRJ 37509. Paratypes: MNRJ 21997 (55, 1 c&s), MZUSP 160499 (9). The species epithet is a noun in apposition. •Valid as Lepidocharax diamantina Ferreira, Menezes & Quagio-Grassiotto 2011 -- (Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], Vita et al. 2020:[5] [ref. 37506], Silva et al. 2020:6 [ref. 37809], Vieira-Guimarães et al. 2024:39 [ref. 41258]). Current status: Valid as Lepidocharax diamantina Ferreira, Menezes & Quagio-Grassiotto 2011. Stevardiidae: Planaltininae. Distribution: South America: Rio Paraguaçu basin, Bahia (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
