antarctica, Liparis Putnam [F. W.] 1874:339 [Proceedings of AAAS (The American Association for the Advancement of Science) v. 22; ref. 18580] Eden Harbor, Ultima, southern Chile, 49°09'S, 74°27'W. Holotype (unique): MCZ 12972 (poor condition). This is the only species of Liparis known from the southern Hemisphere.
