Habitat: freshwater. haerteli, Opisthanodus Ahl [E.] in Schreitmüller 1935:97, Abb. 1 [Wochenschrift für Aquarien- und Terrarienkunde v. 32 (no. 7); ref. 21413] Amazon River at Pará, Brazil [aquarium import]; in error, probably northern Venezuela.
