Holotype: UMMZ 240245. Paratypes: AMNH, UMMZ. •Valid as Malagodon honahona Carr, Martin & Sparks 2024. Current status: Valid as Malagodon honahona Carr, Martin & Sparks 2024. Pantanodontidae. Distribution: Southeastern coast of Madagascar [extinct]. Habitat: freshwater, brackish. madagascariensis, Oryzias Arnoult [J.] 1963:235, Fig. [Bulletin du Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (Série 2) v. 35 (no. 3); ref. 3882] Forest creek in Mahambo, Madagascar [Fenerive Est District, Toamasina Province, ca. 17°29'S, 49°28'E]. Holotype: MNHN 1963-0165. Paratypes: MNHN B-2992 [ex MNHN 1963-0165] (1), 1963-0166 (33). Type catalog: Collette et al. 1997:21 [ref. 22813], Fricke et al. 2018:108 [ref. 35805]. •Valid as Pantanodon madagascariensis (Arnoult 1963) -- (Parenti 1981:509 [ref. 7066], Wildekamp et al. 1986:169 [ref. 6198], Poll & Gosse 1995:207 [ref. 24781], Ghedotti 2000:38 [ref. 27228], Lazara 2001:247 [ref. 25711], Fricke et al. 2018:108 [ref. 35805]). •Valid as Malagodon madagascariensis (Arnoult 1963) -- (Meinema & Huber 2023:44 [ref. 40175], Carr et al. 2024:10 [ref. 41033]). Current status: Valid as Malagodon madagascariensis (Arnoult 1963). Pantanodontidae. Distribution: Northeastern coast of Madagascar [extinct]. Habitat: freshwater, brackish. |
