Species originally described without name in Jacob & Rangarajan 1960:216, Fig. 2 [ref. 11920]. Name proposed subsequently as above in same year. •Valid as Callogobius seshaiyai Jacob & Rangarajan 1960 -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:931 [ref. 20764], Parenti 2021:114 [ref. 38603]). •Valid as Mangarinus seshaiyai (Jacob & Rangarajan 1960) -- (Delventhal & Mooi 2023:462 [ref. 40434]). Current status: Valid as Mangarinus seshaiyai (Jacob & Rangarajan 1960). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Northern Indian Ocean: southern India endemic. Habitat: brackish.
